Dawn White Refuses To Debate Richard Garvin

The Dawn White campaign released a statement today claiming that she “will not be debating Mr. Garvin.” Mrs. White has refused the voters of the 37th district the privilege of hearing both candidates, to avoid public scrutiny.

“It appears that Mrs. White has received more bad advice from her political consultant, Tim Rudd, who serves as a member of the state and local executive committees for the Republican Party.” said Corey Lester, Campaign Manager for Garvin.

Lester stated, “Mr. Rudd recently sent a controversial email to local candidates urging them to not participate in public debates or forums that aren’t sponsored by the Republican Party. It’s questionable why Mr. Rudd doesn’t want his candidate to discuss her platform in a public forum with Mr. Garvin present.”

“It appears Mrs. White and her consultant have decided to engage in these Washington-style politics with the voters in an attempt to avoid public scrutiny.”

He added, “If Mrs. White is unwilling to go on the record publicly to answer the voters’ questions in a public debate, it remains to be seen if she’s running to represent the voters or the special interests and party insiders.”

Garvin stated “It’s unfortunate that Mrs. White won’t allow the voters of the 37th district the opportunity to hear our solutions to the problems facing our state.”

He added, “While my request to Mrs. White remains open, my campaign will be announcing several town hall meetings in the coming weeks to share my plan to bring higher paying jobs to Rutherford County.”
